SASSA Social Grants Increase in April
In 2025,The South African government made significant updates to its social grant system, significantly increasing amount for those who need it. Increasing social grant means helping those in need because of the rising cost. Whether you are an elderly person with disabilities or parent. This increase gives extra money to help with everyday costs.
How much SASSA grants boost?
The first effect of 2025 will be held in April, Since when due to higher cost SASSA will raise grant.
- Elderly grant (For those between 60 and 74 years old), Care Dependency Grant, War Veterans Grant, and  Disability Grant grant will go high from R2 190 to R2 210.
- Pension for older persons (75+) will go up from R2,210 to R2,240.
- Child Support Grant will go up from R530 to R560.
- Foster Care Grant will rise from R1,180 to R1,200.
Future Changes for SASSA Grants
With ongoing economic challenges, experts foresee that:
- Additional grant increases could be needed by mid to late 2025.
- The SRD grant might be extended or raised if government secures additional funding.
- Digital application processes will keep improving, helping reduce long office queues.
